WASHINGTON, June 25 (UPI) — Charlotte, N.C., firm Britax Child Safety Inc., is recalling 20,000 B-Nimble strollers due to a risk of brake failure, U.S. regulators said.

“An audible click heard when the brake pedal is pressed can give a false impression that the brake is fully engaged when it is not,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement.

The recall involves B-Nimble umbrella strollers manufactured on or after Aug. 1, 2010.

Model numbers on the recalled strollers, which were sold in a variety of colors, include U311771, U311773, U311775 and U311780.

They were imported from China and sold nationwide from September 2010 through June 2011 for about $200.

Consumers were advised to stop using the strollers and contact Britax for information and to request a replacement stroller.
