Healthy, organic options offered at Phoenixville cafe and smoothie bar

Provided photo PHOENIXILLE — The newest addition to the downtown Phoenixville shopping and dining experience is Strawberry Fields, an organic café and smoothie bar located at 252 Bridge St.
Partners Rob Nagy and Susan Barrett opened Strawberry Fields on Nov. 27. They said more than 100 customers stopped by during the opening weekend alone.
Nagy and Barrett embarked on starting the business after deciding to step out of the corporate world and into something that better reflects their healthy lifestyle.
Nagy said the partners originally looked at spaces in Avalon, N.J., but decided that Phoenixville, with its “hometown feel,” was a better decision for the business and for their families as well.
They decided to purchase the Bridge Street building rather than just renting the space because of a long-term commitment they’ve made to the Phoenixville community. That investment is evidenced by the fact that both Nagy and Barrett moved to Phoenixville in recent years and ultimately decided to open a business in the bustling downtown.
Strawberry Fields offers Phoenixville a place that doesn’t permit smoking and doesn’t sell alcohol (and is not a B.Y.O.B.). Barrett and Nagy want customers to feel comfortable and safe in the restaurant and enjoy their time there.
Their smoothies are made from fresh, organic fruit and yogurt, with no sugar or chemicals added.
Strawberry Fields also serves organic juices, soups, wraps and hummus. They offer vegan and non-vegan options each day.
There are also items for purchase including chips, candies, crackers and supplements — all of which are organic and healthy. Everything is eat-in or take-out.
In addition to offering healthy food options, Nagy and Barrett also plan to host small, acoustic and jazz bands in the space.
